Lutheran Senior Services’ Aging Answers is a FREE call-in resource staffed by Elder Care Specialists with training in age-related issues. Older adults who are considering care options, facing financial uncertainty, or navigating major life transitions can find help – and hope – in Aging Answers.
Individuals 60 and older (50 and older with a disability) and their loved ones are eligible for Aging Answers.
Aging Answers has resources for:
- Transportation
- Home delivered meals
- Housing options
- Home-based, non-medical services
- Home safety checks
- Counseling options
- Social engagement
- Respite and support services
- Help with benefits (Medicaid, Medicare savings, Veteran’s benefits, Food Stamps)
Care Management
Maintaining your independence doesn’t just happen. You plan for it. Our Care Management team can provide expert guidance to help you live life to the fullest, wherever you call home.
For a fee, an LSS Care Management expert will visit your home and conduct a consultation to identify needs and resources. During the visit, the specialist will:
- Make a personalized plan for you to age well
- Evaluate the safety of your home to promote independence
- Engage in a holistic assessment of your wellbeing
- Access additional resources and education
Wondering who to trust for respite care if you’re a caregiver? Curious if your home could be safer? Need help understanding Medicaid? We’ve got you covered. Having access to a trusted Care Management provides peace of mind as you navigate the uncertainty of new experiences.
The cost for this personalized assessment is $300 for couples or $250 for individuals. Costs will include all of the above.

Good Neighbor Program
Good Neighbor is a financial assistance program for seniors needing home-based, non-medical services, such as bathing, dressing, meals, and other personal care. Financial assistance is available to pay for LSS Private Duty. Client may be eligible for in-home care, 4 hours a week at $11.50 per hour. Lutheran Senior Services will cover the remaining cost.

Benefits Assistance Program
Seniors, find benefits and save money! The FREE Benefits Assistance Program is for seniors 60+ (and 50+ with a disability) in the St. Louis Metro area. The Benefits Assistance Program connects area seniors with public and private programs to help with utilities, medical needs, and much more. Average savings per participant can be up to $400.

Financial Assistance for Church Workers and Missionaries
Older adults who have dedicated their lives to church or mission work may be eligible for financial assistance with senior related services through the Eliezer Fund. Award amounts vary depending on the types of services needed.
