At Breeze Park, we employ a person-centered philosophy of care. That means our staff members dedicate themselves to customizing the care experience to the wishes and needs of each individual resident.
Far from the sterile, clinical trappings of traditional nursing homes, our community is committed to creating real homes for our residents. The executive director for Breeze Park, Tammy Hempen has more than eight years of long-term care experience. A Certified Aging Services Professional (CASP), she has earned a bachelor of science in health administration from Truman State University and a masters of science in health services management from Lindenwood University in St. Charles. She lives in St. Peters, Missouri with her husband, daughter, and dog, Maples.

Care Center Administrator

Holly Stevens holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri - Columbia and a Master of Business Administration degree from Lindenwood University. She brings more than 20 years of management experience to the position of Care Center Administrator, with more than a decade of that spent in the health care field. She joined the Breeze Park team in July 2008 as the Human Resources director, and she currently lives in St. Peters, Missouri, with her husband, son, daughter, and dog Sandie.

Nurse Practitioner

As Breeze Park's nurse practitioner, Catherine Kush brings 35 years' experience in nursing to her position, including two decades of service in the Army Nurse Corps. A university-level nurse educator, she has served in a variety of settings, from hospitals to ambulatory units to long-term care communities. Catherine graduated from St. Louis University with a master’s degree in gerontological nursing, and she is currently pursuing a doctorate in nursing practice.

Senior Living Counselor

Part of the Lutheran Senior Services family for 19 years, Michele Quillo began her career at Hidden Lake as the office manager in 1990 and later moved into the marketing department. In September 1993, Michele joined the Breeze Park staff. Michele has a bachelor's degree in administration of justice from the University of Missouri at St. Louis. She lives in O'Fallon and has two college-age daughters.

Director of Dining Services

Director of Dining Services for Breeze Park since 2006, Suzanne Correnti is a registered and licensed dietitian. She graduated from Fontbonne University with a bachelor's degree in dietetics and has her master’s of business administration from Fontbonne. Suzanne has worked in school food service, acute care, and long-term care and brings more than 20 years experience in the food and nutrition to Breeze Park.

Chaplain

The Chaplain at Breeze Park, Deaconess Karen Pitkin, has a bachelor’s degree in history from Southeast Missouri State University and a master’s degree in pastoral studies from the Aquinas Institute. She is also a certified spiritual director. She completed her Clinical Pastoral Education at Missouri State Hospital and Laclede Groves. She provides pastoral care for the residents, families and staff at Breeze Park as well as supervises seminary students from Concordia and Eden seminaries. She is married with two adult children and resides in Richmond Heights.

At Breeze Park, service-minded individuals find many opportunities to give of their time and talents. We match each volunteer with residents and their families depending upon skills, interests, and availability.
Volunteering can include any number of activities, including:

Director of Stewardship

Part of the Lutheran Senior Services family since 2003, Maggy Spencer was originally hired as director of marketing before she got involved in stewardship. She serves as director of stewardship for the Meramec Bluffs and Breeze Park communities. She has a bachelor’s degree from Washington University and a master’s of business administration from Webster University. She brings years of corporate experience and substantial business expertise to her work as a stewardship director.
Giving Opportunities
Benevolent Care
Contributions to our Benevolent Care Fund endow future financial assistance for residents who have exhausted their financial resources and are no longer able to afford service at their care level.
Good Samaritan
Good Samaritan donors support residents who are currently in need of additional funding to maintain their present level of care.
Christ Care
Donations to the Christ Care Fund help provide relief for Lutheran Senior Services staff members who are experiencing emergency financial needs.
Christian Artwork
Donors to the Christian Artwork fund help to purchase inspirational decorations for LSS communities, helping create a feeling of home for our residents.
Clinical Pastoral Education
Funds donated to LSS' CPE program help support future ministry workers as they train for specialized ministries related to pastoral care, counseling, and/or older adult ministry.
Good Neighbor Program
Funds donated to the Good Neighbor Program help ensure that older adults who need access to low-cost, non-medical care in their own homes can be linked to independent caregivers.
Affordable Housing
Donations to LSS' Affordable Housing communities help provide housing and services for older adults with fewer economic resources.
Hospice Care
Giving to LSS Hospice Care helps patients and their families with items and services, that are beyond the scope of reimbursed care in order to increase their comfort and decrease their stress at the end of life.
Outreach Social Services
Donors to this LSS program ensure that economically-challenged older adults have access to social workers who can connect them to resources that maintain or improve their living situation through in-home assessment and/or on-going care management.
Pastoral Care
Supporting Pastoral Care aids the efforts of our specially trained chaplains. The Pastoral Care team provides comfort and spiritual guidance to our residents, families and staff.
Staff Scholarships
Donations to the staff scholarships assist with educational opportunities that keep staff throughout the Lutheran Senior Services organization current on the most advanced methods for caring for and supporting seniors.
Volunteer Money Management
Supporting Volunteer Money Management fosters independence for older adults by funding recruitment, training, and support for volunteers who assist seniors with day-to-day financial tasks such as balancing a checkbook or paying bills.
