What We Offer

Introducing, SAIDO Learning, an exciting cognitive therapy program for our memory care residents! This proven program will roll out at Lutheran Hillside Village in June. Contact us to find out more information.

For family members living with Alzheimer’s, change can be more than just hard. It can be confusing, upsetting, and even damaging. That’s why Lutheran Hillside Village introduced its two memory care assisted living neighborhoods.

Specially designed for seniors with early to mid-stage, as well as more advanced forms of Alzheimer’s disease or other memory impairments, we’re here to help them make the adjustment to life in a care center as comfortable as possible. Stories

Welcome to Lutheran Hillside Village

From Visitor to Patient to Satisfied Resident

John and Jean Lynn

LHV_JohnLynnStoriesTabNot every mother can tell her friends that her son’s occupation is “adventurer”. But Jean Lynn can.
A resident of Lutheran Hillside Village (LHV), Jean gets a visit from her son John almost every day, despite the fact that his chosen career takes him away from their native Peoria quite often. A self-described “plodder, pedaler, and paddler,” John Lynn makes a living presenting slideshow lectures about his travels across America and the British Isles on foot, by bicycle, or in a canoe.
“It all started with my parents,” John says. “They took me to a lot of Civil War battlefields, presidents’ homes, state capitols, national parks…I saw a lot as a kid.” As a result, John developed what you might call a bad case of wanderlust. “I owe my Mom quite a bit. She was a teacher, and while I don’t consider myself an educator, I do try to teach people something. I got that from her.”
And one of the places John’s always happy to return to is Lutheran Hillside Village.
“We’ve been very impressed with LHV,” he says. “The people here are really caring, and that’s been great for Mom. She’s content here. And, plus, it’s handy for me—it’s just down the road. It’s so easy for me to just bop over for five minutes when she needs me.”

Bill Roger

BillRogerStoriesTabBill Roger first picked up a deer rifle when he was 10 years old. Now 89 years old, he bagged a wild boar in Florida last April, a buck in Illinois in November, and he’s planning further trips for the new year.
“I’ve always been an outdoorsman,” Bill says. “I hunt deer, doves, ducks, and geese. I go fly fishing. Plus, I love nature photography. If it’s outdoors, I’m there.”
But some of his favorite stomping grounds are close to home. (Which is good, because hunting locally means he can make it to more Bradley basketball games.)
So when his wife Marilyn began to need memory care, the Rogers decided to make the move to Lutheran Hillside Village. It kept them close to family, friends, and all the activities they’d always loved. “They just do a great job here,” Bill says. “The people are super friendly, and they just treat you with the utmost respect.”

Greetings!

Welcome to Lutheran Hillside Village in Peoria! Our residents have decided to join hundreds of older adults who have chosen the active, purpose-driven lifestyle offered in our village. People are friendly here, and residents don’t take long to get acquainted, often becoming fast friends in no time at all. Others have enjoyed renewing relationships with folks they’ve known over the years. A remark often heard is, “We truly are a family here.” Once new residents settle in, we encourage them to get involved in the many activities and volunteer opportunities available here.

As a continuum of care retirement community, Lutheran Hillside Village offers all levels of care. Lifestyle options include residential living for active, independent seniors; Samaritan Place assisted living services for people with physical difficulties; and Bethel Place assisted living services for those with early- to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease and other related memory impairments. Lutheran Home is Medicare and Medicaid certified and provides short- and long-term skilled nursing services, including a dedicated neighborhood for those with mid- to late-stage memory loss.

We hope to see you at Lutheran Hillside Village soon. We look forward to getting to know you better!
