  • Edwardsville boasts a wide array of golf courses, both public and private.  Designed by Gary Kern, ASGCA, residents particularly enjoy the 18-hole “Fox Creek” course at the Fox Creek Golf Club.  The facility features 7,027 yards of golf with a course par of 72.  Seniors always receive some sort of discount at Fox Creek, no matter what day of the week.
  •  Theatre enthusiasts may be excited to know that a renovation has recently been completed on the historic Wildey Theatre.  Once an opera house, turned full-time movie theatre, the downtown landmark has been revamped and is now a venue for live performances and classic films.  Dunham Hall and The Metcalf Theatres at local campus SIUE will also provide endless amounts of live entertainment.  The Department of Theatre and Dance Production at SIUE has just announced its 2012-2013 season.
  •  History buffs will want to take in the display of antiques, quilts, and pioneer artifacts at the Madison County Historical Museum and Archival Library, located on downtown Main Street.  Civil War buffs in particular will definitely want to check out Governor Coles Memorial.  For those that want to get involved in monthly meetings, Madison County Genealogical Society offers a real chance to get involved with the preservation of the historical community.  There is also a University Museum on SIUE’s campus.  This museum holds SIUE’s extensive collection of cultural objects, as well as works by contemporary artists.
  •  Edwardsville harbors Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, a fully accredited public university that offers a broad choice of degrees and programs.  Their Continuing Education program offers customized training programs, professional development programs, as well as enjoyable, non-credit leisure learning classes, including special programs for Lifelong Learners.
