Benefits Exclusive to Home for Life Solutions:
Testimonials
Karen Ledbetter, daughter of a Home For Life Solutions subscriber
Karen Ledbetter writes, “When my Mother returned to her home from a rehab stay in an Assisted Living (community); she knew she needed an extra layer of security. Home For Life Solutions provided that security, not only for her, but for the whole family. The technology, service, and response are far superior to any system I have researched. As a nursing home administrator, I am grateful that Lutheran Senior Services is able to offer this wonderful, cutting edge support and security. We are very happy with the entire program.”
How It Works

Home for Life Solutions works through the phone line. If an accident or emergency occurs, and the button is pushed, the individual will be immediately connected to trained operators in a 24-hour call center.
Vital information such as address, medical condition, and more is readily available. Within a matter of moments, a call is placed to the emergency responder of the individual’s choice. The operator then stays in touch with the individual until help arrives. It’s that simple and reliable.
Testimonials
Joan Arsenault, Button Pusher
Joan Arsenault of St. Louis didn’t think she needed a personal emergency response system. However, during a free one-month trial of Lutheran Senior Services’ Personal Emergency Response system, she suffered a fall in her apartment. She couldn’t reach the phone, but luckily, she was wearing The Button. “Ten minutes later, help was at my door,” Joan says. “I used to say I didn’t need it, but I’ll never say that again.”

Most individuals only need The Button to ensure their safety, security, and an emegency response. However, through Home For Life Solutions, there are additional sensors designed to meet a wide range of specific needs. Scroll down to learn about the complete spectrum of tools designed to help people live safely at home.

A large, easier-to-push pendant for people with limited dexterity.

Worn on a belt, this cell phone-sized, state-of-the-art device senses when the wearer falls and alerts the call center. No button-pushing required.

Alert a caregiver to episodes of incontinence. This sensor is a thin, waterproof, and durable mat placed on top of the mattress under the fitted sheet.

This movement detector monitors inactivity or detects intruders without the need to push a button.

Excess water on the bathroom floor can result in a slip or fall. When water is sensed, the unit automatically alerts the call center. This detector can also alert you to water in a laundry room or in a vacation home, allowing you to protect your carpet, floors, or personal belongings from a flood or water damage.

Automatically sends an alert if a person has left the bed or a designated chair and not returned within a preset amount of time.

The high temperature alarm sounds when the home reaches 95 degrees for more than two minutes; the low temperature alarm sounds when the temperature falls below 35.6 degrees for at least 20 minutes. This sensor helps you know if the air conditioner and heater are appropriately set.

If preferred to a pendant, these cords can be installed throughout the home. With a slight tug, the cord triggers a call to the monitoring center for help.

This sensor alerts you to the presence of smoke, allowing ample escape time from the house in case of fire.

When the floor pressure mat is activated, a caregiver can be alerted to movement. It is typically placed by the bedside or at the entrance/exit of a home to detect wandering.
Why Choose Us?
Why Choose LSS Personal Emergency Response?
Lutheran Senior Services and its partner Home For Life Solutions are proactive when it comes to prevention. Our staff actively looks for ways to keep incidents from reoccurring. Competing systems will trigger an alarm, but offer only limited assistance beyond the initial reaction.
In addition, Home For Life Solutions is part of the Lutheran Senior Services network. This enables us to connect clients to a wide array of additional resources and in-home service programs when needed. Some of these services are free of charge, some are covered by insurance, and others are paid for privately by the individual or family.
