Lutheran Senior Services Home Health specializes in helping you regain your independence after an injury, illness, or decline in health or ability. Call 314.963.3430, e-mail us today, or scroll down to learn more.
Our nurses can treat an injury, illness, or a post-surgical condition, provide specific wound care, help you learn about a new condition or prescription, or teach a caregiver how to assist you. When you need expert medical care at home, the nurses of Lutheran Senior Services will come to you.
Physical, Speech, or Occupational Therapy
Our therapists work exclusively with older adults. Your condition will be thoroughly evaluated, and a specific plan will be created to restore movement, address any speech-related disorders, and improve your ability to take care of yourself.
The same therapists that provide care in our facilities also provide home care. So when you rehabilitate at a Lutheran Senior Services skilled nursing facility in St. Louis or St. Charles, there is a strong possibility the same therapist who cared for you may continue your care at home if you need it. Ask your therapist or community social worker for more information.
Home Health Aide Services
While you are receiving home health services, our aide will assist you until you feel confident enough to bathe and dress yourself.
Medical Social Worker Services
If you need additional help, our social worker can locate community resources, talk with you about the impact of your illness, or assist in long-range planning.
Am I Eligible?
Discuss the benefits of skilled care with your doctor. To get nursing, therapy, or other services at home, you must meet Medicare-established guidelines. This means your doctor believes you need skilled medical care on a short-term, intermittent basis to get better. It also means that your injury or illness makes it extremely difficult for you to leave your home to receive the treatment you need. In other words, you are homebound.
What Does Home Health Care Cost?
Traditional Medicare covers the cost of home health care once your eligibility is established. If traditional Medicare does not cover the costs, other coverage for home health care may be available through Worker’s Compensation, private insurance, or private pay.
