What Is The Button?

The Button is an affordable solution for safety, offering security and peace of mind for people who need a personal emergency response system. It’s the simplest way to ensure that help is always available. A part of Living Safe Technologies, The Button is just one of a wide array of sensors and monitors designed specifically to enable people to live safely at home.

One of the most complete emergency response systems available, our medical alert system goes above and beyond to make sure that you receive the help you need when you need it. Medical alerts and monitoring help people who are at risk for falls and injuries to maintain their independence. And since help is always just the push of a button away, Living Safe Technologies also provides peace of mind for family members.


How It Works

The Button works through the phone line, which connects to a tabletop or wall-mounted communication unit. If an accident or emergency occurs, and the button is pushed, the individual will be immediately connected to trained operators in a 24-hour call center.

Vital information such as the client’s address, medical condition, and more is readily available. Within a matter of moments, a call is placed to the responders of the individual’s choice — family members, neighbors, or emergency personnel. The operator then stays in touch with the individual until help arrives. It’s that simple and reliable.

MedReady Dispenser

According to the Centers for Disease Control, 700,000 emergency room visits and 120,000 hospitalizations result each year because people miss their medications, take the wrong dose, or even worse, suffer an adverse interaction from taking the wrong combination of drugs. Forgetfulness, poor vision, the inability to read the print on labels, and the inability to tell the difference between pills are just a few of the many reasons these incidents occur.

To improve medication management, Living Safe Technologies offers the MedReady Dispenser that works with its Caresse monitoring unit. The result — an automated, monitored system for dispensing medication. It’s the simplest, safest way to ensure that medications are taken correctly.


How it Works:

The MedReady Dispenser holds 28 doses of medication. Simply fill the unit’s storage bays and program it to dispense correct doses at the appropriate time of day. Then, lock the unit to ensure security. It is easy to fill, easy to use, and works with a wide variety of drug regimens.

  • MedReady Dispenser PLUS monitoring services to ensure all doses are taken.
  • Installation and intial programming of the dispenser and the Caresse monitoring unit by Living Safe Technology staff members.
  • After initial setup, the user or family programs and fills the dispenser themselves.
  • Optional: For an additional fee, Living Safe Technologies can send a registered nurse to your home to refill your dispenser on a regular basis.)

MM 3—MedReady Dispenser Package

  • MedReady Dispenser PLUS monitoring services PLUS The Button personal emergency response system.
  • Installation and intial programming of the dispenser and the Caresse monitoring unit by Living Safe Technology staff members.
  • Optional: For an additional fee, Living Safe Technologies can send a registered nurse to your home to refill your dispenser on a regular basis.)

A True Story

On any Tuesday morning, you will find volunteer Bill Sullivan engaged with other volunteers in phone calls to clients who use Living Safe Technologies. None of them watches the clock or lives by a predetermined pace; their only goal is to provide reassurance and help if needed.

But one morning, a client shared with Bill that she was feeling short of breath. She wanted to “wait it out”, but Bill knew her event history and was determined to persuade her to seek medical help. Concerned that the client would not follow Bill’s advice, Kevin, a marketing specialist for LST, followed up with an LSS Home Health nurse.

It turned out she was in need of emergency hospitalization, and has since returned home. Clearly, Bill and Kevin were the right people in the right place at the right time. Without their personal attention, this story may have had a very different outcome.

“I had a successful career in medicine, and I’m very grateful for that,” says Bill. “I always wanted to give something back in retirement, and this was a great way to do just that.”
