How our chaplains care for our residents

At Lutheran Senior Services spiritual care is more than lip service, it’s part of living our mission. We touch the life of the whole person — physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our own chaplains, specially trained for this ministry, serve each community.

In addition, chaplains serve in hospice care, and are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week to residents and families of all faiths.

Lutheran Senior Services honors and cherishes those in our care and welcomes people of all faiths, respecting their beliefs and helping them to stay in touch with their personal faith practices. Our chaplains host weekly worship services, teach Bible class, provide grief support and private communion. They also arrange for weekly Catholic services.

We assist many of our residents who choose to plan a funeral or memorial service in the chapel on campus.

Our Pastoral Care Department also maintains a Christ Care Fund, an emergency fund available to all employees in the event of a financial emergency. It is supported by donations from employees, residents, and friends of Lutheran Senior Services.
