Activities Volunteer
An opportunity for the volunteer who wants one-on-one and group interaction. Be an extra set of hands during a group Bingo game, play board games with residents, decorate for special occasions, or teach a craft or hobby. (All locations)

Chapel Volunteer
Assistance with religious services by serving as an usher, Eucharistic minister, song leader or accompanist. (Breeze Park, Heisinger Bluffs, Hidden Lake, Laclede Groves, Lenoir Woods, Lutheran Hillside Village, Meramec Bluffs, Meridian Village)

Companion Volunteer
Share time with one-on-one with residents, conversation, reading books or newspapers or writing letters. (All locations)

Congregation Partner
Introduce LSS employees to key leaders and volunteers of your congregation, connecting members to LSS programs. (All locations)

Health & Wellness Volunteer
Provide regularly-scheduled blood pressure check opportunities to residents (Suitable for volunteers with physician, medical assist, nursing or nurse aid experience) (Affordable Housing communities)

Exercise Enthusiast
Share your love of staying active and fit with our residents. From arm chair aerobics & active Wii Games to Yoga, volunteers are needed to lead health and wellness activities. (Affordable Housing communities)

Gift Shop/Store Assistant
This position is perfect for the person who loves to interact with a variety of people and takes pride in creating attractive merchandise displays. (Breeze Park, Meridian Village)

Greeter/Clerical
Greet visitors, assist with small clerical projects and answer phones. (Breeze Park, Meridian Village)

Groups & Families
With adequate planning and supervision, many of our communities welcome the opportunity to host group or family service projects for multi-generational teams of volunteers. (All locations)

Life Story Volunteer
Assist patients with writing their life story – a wonderful gift for family and friends. Tools (provided) used to record the story are tailored to the patient and may include scrapbooks, audio tapes, written word, video or a combination.

Living Safe Technology Installer
Complete simple installation and orientation of equipment in client homes. (A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance is needed for this role.)

Move-In Assistant
When a resident makes a move from their home to or within an LSS community, there are a lot of adjustments to be made. Volunteers are always needed to assist our Move-In specialists and residents with measuring furniture, and taking photos.

Office Support
Assist with mailings, assemble packets, provide data entry support, scan or file documents, provide relief at reception desk and conduct reminder calls. (All locations)

Readers
Love a good book? Like to start your day with a quick read of the newspaper? You have a lot in common with our residents! Share this love by spending time one-on-one or with small groups reading books aloud or sharing highlights from the day.

Resident Transporter
Assist residents needing help getting to and from Chapel, the beauty shop or clinics on campus. Duties include pushing a wheelchair or providing a steady arm. (All locations)

Resident Visitor
Team up with our employees to provide special care and attention to residents who are open to companions and visitors. A regular visit for conversation or a stroll around the community can do wonders! (All locations)

Respite Volunteer
Provide relief to Hospice families when you provide companionship to a patient while the family caregiver runs errands, attends religious services or bible study, or re-connects with their support system. (Hospice Care)

Service Projects
Our communities have been blessed by the generosity of our churches and the community at large. In return, we welcome scouts, confirmation classes and high school or college student groups who wish to create a service project

Special Events
Assist with resident social events or lend a hand with an LSS fund-raising event. (All locations)

Volunteer Money Management (VMM) Volunteer
For just a two-hour time commitment each month, you can help an older adult remain independent and self-sufficient. Our VMM volunteers visit clients in their homes to pay client’s bills with client’s funds.

Youth Service
Youth volunteers are welcome in all of our communities. Roles and responsibilities are matched with youth depending on their skills, interests and maturity level. Parents are always encouraged to accompany youth volunteers under the age of 18.
