Purpose

A Fixing Purpose

Once a month, the workshop at Meramec Bluffs hosts a “We-Fix-It Weekend” where residents can bring in small items to be fixed. The idea came about when Meramec Bluffs resident John Schroeder and his friends in the workshop realized they needed projects to work on and could help their neighbors.

Giving Back and Finding Purpose

Grace Poland is in her nineties and a regular volunteer at Breeze Park, a Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) Life Plan Community in St. Charles, Missouri. She grew up inspired by the servant heart of her father, but it wasn’t until the last of her five children went off to school that Poland herself got involved in volunteering.
